Coil life, liquid cost and the herbal habit
We run herbal the same way in Bristol: same 30 ml shortfill, same 8 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Herbal prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Bristol that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within £2.93 per 10 ml.
The short version: herbal in Bristol works if the 30 ml shortfill, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a herbal 30 ml shortfill really costs in Bristol
Herbal prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Bristol that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within £2.93 per 10 ml.
How we tested herbal in a 30 ml shortfill
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 2–4 business days.
- Pick the 30 ml shortfill that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in the UK, which is 20 mg/mL for retail here.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a 30 ml shortfill arrives sealed but wrong.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Stock depth: 6 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Coil type inside the 30 ml shortfill, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where herbal goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a 30 ml shortfill and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Chasing a discount on a 30 ml shortfill that then needs an adapter nobody in Bristol stocks.
- Assuming 20 mg/mL is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to the UK need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
UK rules cap e-liquids at 10 ml and 20 mg/ml, with batch codes on every bottle.
