How we tested Lime starter kit here
We run lime the same way in Bristol: same starter kit, same 2 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Lime starter kit reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 11 units and 2 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Below is the run we did for this search: 11 units, starter kit, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a lime starter kit really costs in Bristol
We run lime the same way in Bristol: same starter kit, same 2 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested lime in a starter kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 2–4 business days.
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a starter kit arrives sealed but wrong.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 2–4 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Coil type inside the starter kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Batch code and production date, so a lime bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where lime goes wrong
- Assuming 20 mg/mL is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Treating the advertised £47 entry kit as the real cost when refills run £3.35 per 10 ml.
- Mixing lime with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
UK rules cap e-liquids at 10 ml and 20 mg/ml, with batch codes on every bottle.
Packaging for lime in Bristol must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a starter kit cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Bristol: about £3.35 per 10 ml liquid plus £47 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On lime the budget price and the premium price can sit within £3.35 per 10 ml once 2–4 business days is counted.
Why does lime taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the starter kit units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the lime blend itself harsh.
