Tropical pen device Nicotine Salt in Bristol: the online shortlist — Bristolsalnic
Tropical in Bristol: 12 units tested over 3 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Bristol.
How to tell a good pen device from a repack
The honest read on tropical: 12 units through the same routine over 3 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
A tropical pen device from the online options in Bristol costs about £2.96 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long tropical tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a tropical pen device really costs in Bristol
Tropical sounds like one product. It is not: a pen device running 20 mg/mL will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested tropical in a pen device
- Choose strength against the ceiling in the UK, which is 20 mg/mL for retail here.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 2–4 business days.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every tropical bottle shipped into Bristol.
- Stock depth: 12 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is 20 mg/mL in the UK, not a suggestion.
Where tropical goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why tropical tastes flat after two days.
- Mixing tropical with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Bristol accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
UK rules cap e-liquids at 10 ml and 20 mg/ml, with batch codes on every bottle.
Retail sales in the UK sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is 20 mg/mL. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
Why does tropical taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the tropical blend itself harsh.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On tropical the budget price and the premium price can sit within £2.96 per 10 ml once 2–4 business days is counted.
How long does tropical in a pen device last?
In Bristol we measured 3 to 12 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
